Common Questions

The questions that usually get asked. If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out.
Who are we?
A network of excellence (NOE) bringing together people from different disciplines and provides shared facilities, resources, and ideas.
How are decisions made what to work on?
No one entity sits in a traditional "leading" role. Organizations involved benefit from a structure that brings together various groups and sits outside of regular reporting, which allows for each group to bring forward and own new ideas.
I have questions not answered here.
Please contact us directly at hello@opencellag.com with your questions and we will see how we can help!
What are you working on?
The first project that the network of excellence is seeking to support is the development of a common cell bank for both private industry and public use. Our core focus is providing open source tools.
What is important, right now?
A focus on common infrastructure for the cellular agriculture industry is needed. The first set of projects supported will focus on this idea.
How do I get involved?
Please reach out to us if you are looking to lead a project, provide resources, capital, or other in-kind efforts to support the cellular agriculture industry more broadly.
The first project supported by the network of excellence is the development of a cell bank.
A fundamental step in the development of new cellular agriculture products is access to cells.
